Your invitation

Come as you are.
Move with us.

You do not need to know the moves, own the gear or have ever stepped inside a CrossFit gym. You just need to be up for giving it a go.

Our coaches and community will take care of the rest. The workout is made to be welcoming, supported and something you can be proud to finish.

CFBA Trial FAQs

Trial FAQs

A few things you might want to know.

Whether you are new to CrossFit or ready to join a group class, here is what to expect when you train with us at CFBA.

Which option is right for me if I am new to CrossFit?

Start with Intro. It is the best place to begin if you have not tried CrossFit before, are returning after time away, or want to revisit the basics. You will learn key movements in a supportive setting and build confidence before stepping into a regular group class.

Do I need to book before I come in?

Yes. Please book online using the timetable so the coaches know you are coming and we can make sure there is space in your chosen class. Use the Intro timetable if you are new to CrossFit, or the group-class timetable if you are ready for regular classes.

Do I need to be fit to start CrossFit?

No. CrossFit is designed to be scalable, which means each workout can be adjusted to suit your current fitness level and experience. All you need to do is show up and give it your best. If you are unsure, Intro is the right place to start.

Will a coach help me with scaling or modifications?

Absolutely. Our coaches will guide you through movements and provide scaling options so the workout works for you. Please let the team know about any injuries or concerns before class so they can give you extra support.

What happens in a typical class?

Classes run for around one hour. You can expect a warm-up, a strength or skill component, the workout itself, and a warm-down. The coaching team will explain the session and help you find the right version of it for your ability.

What should I bring?

Bring comfortable training gear and a water bottle. If you have your own accessories such as grips, feel free to bring them, but we also have grips, ropes and mats available to use while you are here.

Is there parking and can I use the open gym?

There is plenty of free street parking around CrossFit Bil Athletic in Burleigh. Open gym is generally for members. If you are visiting and would like to use the open gym, please arrange it with the team before you arrive.
