Question 1: Do I need to book in advance, or can I just show up for a class?

You can book online so the coaches know you're coming and to ensure we have space available at your chosen time.

Question 2: Will a coach help me with scaling or modifications if needed?

Experience is recommended for drop-ins, but CrossFit is designed to suit all abilities and fitness levels. Our coaches provide scaling options for every workout and class to ensure everyone can participate safely and effectively. If you have any injuries or specific concerns, please inform our coaches before the class so they can offer additional support.

For those trialing a class, no prior experience is needed. The CFBA coaching staff will guide you through movements and provide modifications to ensure you feel comfortable and confident, regardless of your fitness level.

If you still have concerns, we recommend you start with some CrossFit basics during our Powerhouse Beginners program.

Question 3: How long are your classes, and what do they typically include?

Our classes run for one hour. They typically include a warm up and warm down, strength or skill piece and a workout.

Question 4: Do you offer any CrossFit foundations or intro programs for new participants?

We have the Powerhouse Beginners program that is a great introductory class. This small group class ensures you get the individualised coaching and support you need to give you confidence to join a group CrossFit session.

Question 4: What should I bring to my drop-in session?

If you have your own accessories, feel free to bring those! We do have a supply of grips, ropes and mats you are more than welcome to use during your stay.

Question 5: Is there parking available at your Burleigh gym?

There is plenty of of free street parking available around CrossFit Bil Athletic in Burleigh.

Question 6: Can I use the gym outside of class times during my drop-in?

The Open Gym is for our members unless you organise to use this area prior to arriving with our staff.

Questions 7: Do I need to be fit to start CrossFit?

No, you don’t need to be fit to start CrossFit! CrossFit is designed to be scalable, meaning workouts can be adjusted to suit your current fitness level.

Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or already active, our coaches will guide you through movements, tailor workouts to your abilities, and help you build strength, confidence, and fitness over time. All you need to do is show up and give it your best!
